Free concerts this weekend in Brookhaven
Brookhaven is hosting its beautiful and free Cherry Blossom Festival this weekend at Blackburn Park. Live will be headlining on Saturday and Barenaked Ladies will be headlining on Sunday. Both bands start at 4:30pm and other concerts will be preceeding the shows. Saturday’s full lineup includes Takiya Mason (12:15pm), Sister Hazel (1:30pm), Moon Travel (3pm), Live (4:30pm). Sunday’s full lineup includes Koyal (12:30pm), Crash Test Dummies (1:45pm), Lisa Loeb (3:15pm), Barenaked Ladies (4:30pm).
Pets are welcome but coolers aren’t. Also, parking will be extremely difficult as there is no festival parking in the immediate vicinity of Blackburn Park. The best alternative is to park at the Brookhaven/Oglethorpe Marta station and take the free shuttle to Blackburn Park. Plan to walk a bunch. Blankets are welcome but chairs are frowned upon unless you have a health issue necessitating the use of one. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site. I was at the event last year and it was a blast and worth checking out.
